Community Security

A community is comprised of people who share an identity based on a common characteristic, such as lineage, economic practice or ethnicity. Communities, particularly minority ethnic groups, often lack economic opportunities, face the loss of traditional relationships and practices, and must contend with threats to their physical security. Community security aims to protect groups of people from externally imposed threats to their lives and livelihoods.
